3 Permanent Makeup Myths

Unfortunately, there are many untruths surrounding Permanent Makeup Industry and the actual procedure which can put clients off. So I am going to debunk the 3 biggest misconceptions about permanent makeup that could be preventing clients from accessing life-changing treatments.

Myth # 1: Permanent Makeup is painful. This is possibly the biggest false notion I have ever heard about permanent makeup. And you know what? It’s not. Especially when it comes to brow or lip techniques. There are might be some different sensations depending on your pain threshold. But for all types of skin the sensations vary from discomfort like quick tweezing till soft tickles. Plus numbing of the treated area is a part of any permanent makeup procedure. I always check with my clients either before or after numbing, whether they feel comfortable.

Myth no 2: Permanent makeup is only for eyebrows. Although brows are one of the most popular treatments and one which most people have heard of, but permanent makeup industry now includes lips, lash line enhancement, areola restoration after breast cancer, scalp camouflage and many others. Permanent make up became a life-changing treatment to those who have an Alopecia or went through chemo/hormone therapy and lost their hair ❤️. In my studio at the moment you can get Ombré Powder and Hairstroke Brows, Lip Blushing, Lash Line Enhancement, where I dedicated to deliver a result to suit each of my client's individual needs. There are also very safe and effective removal options available for those who have permanent makeup they wish to remove, such as saline tattoo removal which you can also get in our studio. Just send us your request for a consultation.

Myth no 3: The treatments are a 100% permanent. Yes, we do refer all these tretments as ‘permanent’ makeup. This is because the pigment that is implanted will not 100% disappear from the skin once client had a treatment (unless done with minerals). Pigments of most world-known brands today are organic or hybrids. Those pigments fade or change colour over time and clients who wish to maintain results do require regular touch ups every 1-3 years to keep the treated area looking fresh.

I hope you have a little bit more understanding that permanent makeup treatments are absolutely safe, relatively none painful procedures if done properly and with the right artist 🫶.
